When the lineup for Washed Out was announced a few months ago, I was very excited. Then the organisers continued to announce more and more bands since and it became something I was pretty sure would end up being the highlight of my year in terms of the Brighton music scene. A festival spanning only two days, but with a lineup of over 65 bands, this is the first live music I’ve seen in a little while and it’s been set to be a great weekend.
On Friday, I turned up at Sticky Mike’s to see Sunshine Frisbee Laserbeam, Yr Poetry, itoldyouiwouldeatyou, and Happy Accidents. Every band was amazing. This is also the first time I’ve brought a half-decent camera to a gig, so I took quite a few photos. Some better than others, but it’s a learning curve and I feel like my skills improved as the night went on.
The gig had an incredibly friendly atmosphere, with members of every band happy to chat for a bit afterwards. I’ll leave all their links below, along with some photos.
